Air Surveillance Radar Tower (ASR-9)
Wiley|Wilson was responsible for adapting the standard Air Surveillance Radar tower and concrete masonry unit support building for appropriate site loadings and facility usage, as well as the design of foundations for both structures. The base building was also revised to accommodate ADA accessibility requirements. The full design package included architectural, civil, mechanical, and structural services.
Our architects and engineers incorporated changes to the standard drawings to accommodate proper energy efficiency due to selection of roofing products as well as accommodating access points to be ADA compliant.
Structurally, we performed analysis on the standard steel trussed tower in order to accommodate hurricane force loadings, design of a deep foundation system to resist applicable loadings, and adjustment of support building details to resist higher loadings due to site location.
