Lancaster County Judicial Center

Wiley|Wilson conducted a space needs study for all administrative and judicial functions provided by the County. We performed a facility assessment of the existing courthouse to determine the condition of the enclosure, structure, mechanical systems and electrical system. The study resulted in a concept design for constructing a new judicial center and renovating the existing courthouse for use as an administration building.

Wiley|Wilson designed a new 23,036 SF judicial center that is sympathetic to the adjacent historic courthouse through architectural detailing. The new judicial center features natural daylighting, a ceremonial lobby for community events and secure separation. The facility houses the Circuit Court Clerk, General District Court and Clerk, Juvenile & Domestic Court and Clerk, Court Services, and the Commonwealth’s Attorney.
