Bolling Main Gate Force Protection Improvements
Wiley|Wilson was selected to design major force protection improvements to the Main Gate at Bolling Air Force Base as a task order under our ATFP IDIQ Contract with NAVFAC Washington. The Main Gate is the primary vehicle entry control point for Bolling AFB with a maximum traffic volume in excess of 1300 vehicles per hour. The gate’s force protection improvements were designed to comply as much as practical with the criteria established in the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), 4-012-01 within very limiting site constraints. The architectural design of the new elements was carefully developed to integrate with the historic fabric of the adjacent buildings.
Project components include the following

- Active and passive vehicle barriers

- Hardened emergency generator and uninterruptible power supply
- Overhead canopy structure
