Visitor Center
The City of Suffolk wished to relocate its Visitor’s Center to the former Nansemond County Courthouse, a Roman Revival style building constructed prior to 1840. A new courts facility was constructed in the mid-1990s and the building no longer functioning as a courthouse.
Wiley|Wilson provided design and construction administration for the renovations to the courthouse into in a Visitor’s Center. Highlights of the Visitor’s Center included Great Dismal Swamp displays, exhibit station, historic displays, native plant demonstration garden, educational signage, and a gift shop.
